Discovering what your peers in similar circumstances are earning is just one piece of the puzzle... using that information to effectively negotiate a fair salary for yourself requires knowledge and confidence.  If you dread salary negotiations as much as we do, you've probably been looking for some tips and tricks to get through it successfully.

    What about adding a question onto the salary survey: "Did you negotiate?" When I look at the data, I see the hourly rate I was originally offered, I'm curious if people even asked for more. You have to at least ask.
